Wusthof Culinar vs Classic
The Wusthof Culinar knives are very distinctive from other lines of the German Trident cutlery brand. It is made of stainless steel, both for the knife itself (from tang to blade), and the handle too.
Their design is actually their main difference with other top lines of Wusthof knives. Indeed, Classic and Culinar are both precision-forged high-carbon stain-resistant steel blades. Both very strong and extremely sharp.
Because of their unique design, the ergonomic and feel is also different. You need to know yourself what kind of handle you would prefer to hold.
Also, the Wusthof Culinar line is a bit more expensive than the Classic one.
The Wusthof Culinar 8907 knife set is thus a great entry 7-piece set that you can complete: if you want to add a Wusthof Culinar knife from time to time and build your knife set progressively.
Take Care Of Your Cutlery!
Just like any premium knife set, you don’t want to put these in the dishwasher to keep their delicate blade intact from scratches. It just take few seconds to wash them by hand with a mild cleanser and then dry immediately.
The diamond steel will help you restore the blade sharpness with several strokes on both side. Note: Steels are generally made to hone (realign) the blade. You may consider buying a sharpener to actually sharpen the blade easily. Wusthof ones are about $15-$20.
